Our hood has an OEM-style latch/lock mechanism; no additional mechanisms are required.
It will be held open by a latch (not included). Note: NOT compatible with OEM struts. If you want an OEM-style feature with struts, the recommendation is NRG 2/3 strength or similar with OEM dimensions (not included). Please select that option when ordering.
The side vents at the top can remain closed for an aggressive look but without airflow or water (in case of rain or car wash), or they can be perforated and provide greater cooling thanks to increased airflow.
Our front scoop is fully functional, directing air to the turbo located at the rear of the engine where temperatures tend to be very high. This will give your engine greater performance.
Options: "FULL CARBON FIBER" / "HYBRID" / "FIBERGLASS".
The "HYBRID" version (carbon fiber on the main face and filled with fiberglass in the back layers = 40% carbon fiber + 60% fiberglass) offers the same appearance and finish as a "FULL CARBON FIBER" version. The difference between the two options is minimal in terms of weight/strength. Both options are lighter than OEM parts because they are manufactured using vacuum infusion techniques, removing unnecessary excess resin and air from the part and compacting the material layers as much as possible.
We recommend using the "FULL CARBON FIBER" (NO STRUTS) version to lose as much weight as possible (approximately 65% ) for racing projects.The "HYBRID" version is slightly less lightweight and only slightly less rigid than the "FULL CARBON FIBER" version, but "HYBRID" version it is also lighter (approximately 50%) compared to the OEM part (59 POUNDS) you wish to replace.
